Terms of use

Adopted on 10 October 2026. The terms are also available in the app under Profile › About Halster.

About these terms

Halster helps you keep track of your horse’s care and training. These terms apply to the app and your Halster account.

Who provides Halster

Halster provides this app. You can contact us at contact@halster.app.

Halster as a support tool

Halster does not diagnose conditions or replace a vet, farrier or instructor. Data, reminders and care advice support your own decisions. The app cannot assess your horse’s condition. Contact your vet if you are unsure about your horse’s health.

Responsibility

You make your own decisions about your horse’s care and training. Check that the data and plans you enter are still correct. This does not affect your statutory rights or Halster’s legal obligations and liability.

Your account

Halster is for people aged 16 and over. Sign in with Apple, Google or an email code. Use your own account and keep your sign-in details private. If you can no longer sign in, email contact@halster.app.

Your data

You can view your available data and create a backup file in Profile. Saving online requires a signed-in account, a connection and processing by the server. The storage status shows what has been confirmed online. The privacy policy explains which data we process and what happens when data is deleted.

Your trial and subscription

You can use Halster for 14 days without payment details. This trial does not start an Apple subscription or lead to an automatic charge.

The trial lasts 14 × 24 hours and starts once when you select ‘Start using Halster’ on the welcome screen. If you are already signed in to an account that has never had a trial, the trial starts when you add your first horse, unless you already have access through a subscription or granted free Premium. Signing in to an existing account does not start a new trial; any trial period that has already started still applies.

Price and purchase

Halster offers a monthly subscription and an annual subscription. The annual subscription is paid in one payment. You subscribe in the app through the App Store.

Payment, renewal and cancellation

You pay through your Apple account, where you can also manage and cancel your subscription. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. The App Store shows the price, billing period and renewal terms before purchase.

After cancellation, the subscription remains valid until the end of the current subscription period. It does not renew after that.

After the trial

Without a subscription, your data and settings stay readable after the trial. New ordinary entries and plans require a subscription.

If Halster has granted you free Premium access, you can use these functions for as long as the grant is valid. You do not need to buy a subscription for this.

What remains available

You can still turn off existing reminders. For medication already in progress, you can make necessary corrections to the recorded treatment plan and record doses given, within your existing permissions. Any set end date still applies.

You can always delete data. You can save a ride once if it was already in progress when the trial ended. After the trial, you can restore a backup from your own account to read your data even without a subscription or granted Premium access. Restoring merges the data with what is already there. Without a subscription or granted Premium access, reminders newly added from the backup are turned off. Restoring does not turn on an existing reminder.

Weather and reminders

Weather forecasts come from Open-Meteo and are based on your stable’s rounded location. The app requests weather forecasts and the server checks the weather for stables with active horses. Availability and freshness can vary. A forecast is not a measurement taken beside your horse. A reminder does not confirm that care has been carried out.

Deleting your account

You can request deletion in Profile › Delete account. You then have 30 days to cancel the request. After that period, we delete your account and its associated data as described in the privacy policy. It also explains when deletion may be delayed, which data is retained for longer and what happens to backups. If you cannot make the request yourself, email contact@halster.app.

Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country of residence remain applicable.
