Tool
Horse feed chart maker: free printable A4
What goes in each feed, the hay, temporary changes and who to call. You get a dated A4, and the same text for a message.
Feed chart
Temporary changes: check the date
How to prepare it
What it does
- Turns what you enter into a readable chart, each feed with its time.
- Lists temporary changes separately, with their last day.
- Prints as A4 and copies the text for a message.
What it doesn’t do
- Doesn’t calculate rations; how much your horse gets is for you to decide with your vet.
- Stores nothing. Close the page and the chart is gone.
- Doesn’t update: when something changes, you make a new chart.
What happens to your input
What you enter stays in your browser and disappears when you close the page. There is deliberately no link to share, because a phone number may be on it. Nothing is sent to a server; we only count that the tool was used.
Why a chart with a date
It goes wrong the moment two versions are in circulation: last month’s note on the door and yesterday’s message in a group of forty. Whoever feeds picks the wrong one. One chart with a date solves that: the newest applies, and everyone can see it.
Write amounts the way you measure them, not the way the bag says: “one blue scoop” is clearer for a stand-in than “750 grams” when there are no scales. Add the preparation where it matters (dampen, pellets first, powder mixed in). And keep the chart short: what is the same every day goes at the top; what is temporary goes separately, with an end date.
Questions
Can I put several horses on one chart?
Make one chart per horse; that is clearest for whoever feeds. Hang them side by side.
How do I get it to my yard owner?
Print it for the feed bin, and copy the text into a message; the date is in both.
